Lower fees for Gold Star family plates
The law removes the $15 personalization fee for Gold Star family special plates. Gold Star family members also do not pay maintenance or reissue fees for personalized plates that show the Gold Star symbol. You still pay normal registration and any other special plate fees. The change takes effect on the first day of the seventh month after publication.
