Businesses get longer research tax credits

Businesses can carry qualifying unused Wisconsin research tax credits forward for 50 taxable years, up from 15. These credits reduce future Wisconsin income or franchise taxes. The extension also covers specified older credits, including 2023 carryovers, that remained unused, unrefunded, and unexpired on the law’s effective date.
