Tribal governments get notices about industrial permits
Wyoming’s industrial siting director must notify covered tribal governments about proposed facilities in the same or an adjacent county. Covered governments include the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, the Northern Arapaho Tribe of the Wind River Indian Reservation, and the cooperative tribal governing body. After receiving a permit-waiver request, the director must send notice within 7 days. Meeting notices are due within 14 days of receiving the request, and hearing notices within 50 days. After receiving a permit application, the director must send an electronic or physical copy and hearing notice within 10 days. The director must also notify covered tribal governments of the hearing within 90 days of receiving the application. These rules apply to industrial siting permit applications filed on or after July 1, 2025. The industrial siting council must issue rules to carry out the law; that duty took effect when the law was enacted. The law creates no direct household payment or individual duty.
