Title 5 › Part III— EMPLOYEES › Subpart B— Employment and Retention › Chapter 33— EXAMINATION, SELECTION, AND PLACEMENT › Subchapter I— EXAMINATION, CERTIFICATION, AND APPOINTMENT › § 3330
The Office of Personnel Management must make and keep a public list of job announcements for competitive service jobs in each agency that will be filled by appointment for more than one year and that are open to people outside the agency now or soon. An “agency” means an executive agency, but not the Government Accountability Office or units whose main job is foreign intelligence or counterintelligence, as the President decides. Each listing must give a short job description (title, tenure, location, pay), say how and when to apply and how to get more info, and any other details OPM thinks are needed. OPM will write rules to run the list and will make sure agencies do not give duplicate information already required under section 3327 or other law. OPM may charge agencies fees for these services and will keep the fees to cover the costs.
