DPA Waiver for Munitions and Minerals
On May 23, 2025 the President waived the requirements of section 303(a)(2) through (a)(6) of the Defense Production Act (50 U.S.C. 4533) for supply chains tied to munitions, missiles and associated equipment, and for critical minerals (as defined by 30 U.S.C. 1606(a)(3)) as well as uranium, copper, potash, and gold. The memorandum directs action to increase production capacity in these areas to address shortfalls that would severely impair national defense capability.
