Two-Year Compliance Deadline Extension

If your taconite (iron ore) processing facility is listed in Annex I, you are exempt from complying with the EPA's Taconite Rule for a period of 2 years beyond each original compliance date. The Taconite Rule was published March 6, 2024 (89 FR 16408) and this proclamation was signed July 17, 2025. During each 2-year extension, covered stationary sources remain subject to the emissions and compliance obligations that applied before the Taconite Rule.
