Preferred renewal right for state lessees

If you hold an expiring Wyoming state land lease, paid rent on time, are not in violation, and meet W.S. 36-5-101, you get a preferred right to renew. You can renew by matching the highest bid from another qualified applicant. The competing bid must be at least the board’s minimum fair market value and no more than 120% of the board’s maximum fair market value. The board bases these values on last year’s state, district, or county data from the National Agricultural Statistics Service and its formula. The law takes effect immediately.
