Beginning July 1, 2025, the state charter authorizing board can approve any number of charter schools. The normal application and review rules still apply. Before July 1, 2025, no more than four charter schools could be authorized to operate by an entity other than a school district board. The three schools approved by the State Loan and Investment Board counted toward that limit.
