Military service members (including those released within the last 2 years with an honorable discharge) and spouses get fast‑track Wyoming licenses. Boards must issue a license within 30 days of a complete application, or within 30 days of your request if you held a similar active license in good standing for at least 5 straight years. Forms ask if you are military or a spouse; once you show a military ID, spouse ID, or a marriage license, the board must start right away and issue within 30 days. You must follow Wyoming practice, discipline, and continuing education rules, and provide orders or proof of honorable service if separated. Boards can grant a fee‑free temporary practice permit for up to 3 years while you pursue full licensure, and must give a 90‑day, fee‑free temporary license while a completed application is under review if you have at least 3 years of good‑standing licensure elsewhere.
When checking your qualifications, boards must count your military education, training, and experience. This covers service in the U.S. armed forces, any state's National Guard, reserves, or naval militia. This can cut extra classes or tests.
EMS license applications from veterans, service members (not including National Guard on active duty), National Guard members leaving an active‑duty tour, and their spouses are processed under the EMS licensure compact. This can speed recognition across member states and help you start work sooner.
Boards must adopt rules to run these changes, including online applications and licensure by reciprocity for military members and spouses. The new rules apply to applications filed on or after the law’s effective date. Two older licensing provisions are repealed and no longer apply.
