Charter schools lose lease reimbursements

The law ends state reimbursement to charter schools for leasing buildings when a district has no adequate space. Charter schools no longer receive that state money for these lease costs. The State Construction Department now reviews charter school facility requests and decides if district space is available and adequate. The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
