Faster, tighter mineral tax payouts to local governments

Beginning July 1, 2025, county treasurers send mineral production property tax money by the 10th day of the month after they get it. For amounts collected after the final reconciliation, they also pay by the 10th day of the next month. Treasurers cannot pay governments that do not levy, or are not allowed to levy, the related tax for that year. Money collected for an ineligible government is held until the final reconciliation, then paid out as the law directs.
