Starting January 1, 2026, Wyoming values taxable tangible personal property each year using state valuation indexes and depreciation schedules set by the Department of Revenue. The law sets a depreciation floor at 20% of the reported installed cost. Once an item hits that floor, the trending factor used to adjust its value stays the same until the item is taken out of service. This does not apply to property valued under W.S. 39-13-102(m) or to titled mobile homes. The Department must issue rules to set the indexes and schedules, and that rulemaking starts immediately.
