Starting July 1, 2025, retailers and wholesalers must label cell‑cultured products as “containing cell cultured product.” Plant‑based products must say “vegetarian,” “vegan,” or “plant based.” You cannot use the word “meat” unless the product meets the law’s meat definition, which excludes some animal parts and processed muscle. These rules apply when the product is not from harvested livestock, poultry, wildlife, or exotic livestock. They help shoppers know what they are buying.
Starting July 1, 2025, beef may say “Product of the United States of America” only if the cattle were born, raised, slaughtered, and processed in the U.S. Beef with unknown origin cannot use this U.S. claim. Beef may say “Product of Wyoming” only if the cattle were both born and raised in Wyoming. These rules apply to anyone who labels, packs, or sells beef in Wyoming.
