Commerce Cancels China Aluminum Cable Duty Review

Published Date: 6/4/2026

Notice

Summary

The U.S. Department of Commerce is canceling the review of extra taxes on aluminum wire and cable from China because no products were imported during the review period from December 2023 to November 2024. This means no new money will be collected or refunded for this time. Companies involved, like Tanghenam Electric Wire & Cable, won’t face changes in duties for now.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 3 mixed.

Review Rescinded — No Collections or Refunds

Commerce rescinded the antidumping duty administrative review for aluminum wire and cable because there were no suspended entries during the period December 1, 2023 through November 30, 2024. That means no new antidumping duties will be collected and no refunds will be issued for entries during that period.

Cash Deposit Rates Stay the Same

Because Commerce rescinded the review, the current cash deposit rates for aluminum wire and cable imports from China will not change and will remain in effect until Commerce says otherwise. Importers should continue using the existing cash deposit requirements for entries.

Duty Assessment Instructions Timing

Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to assess antidumping duties on appropriate entries at rates equal to the cash deposit rate in effect at the time of entry, in accordance with 19 CFR 351.212(c)(1)(i). Commerce intends to issue those assessment instructions no earlier than 35 days after this rescission notice is published in the Federal Register.
