Became Law
Summary

U.S. law counts for war crimes rewards
The State Department rewards program for war crimes and genocide now counts U.S. law. The Department can use U.S. law or a foreign country’s or tribunal’s law to decide if a case qualifies for a reward. This gives more ways to approve payments. It does not change reward amounts or add funding. The change is in effect now.
