Became Law
Places Pascua Yaqui Tribe–owned land within a defined Tucson area into federal trust and adds it to the Pascua Yaqui Reservation. This law directs the Secretary of the Interior to accept into trust, at the Tribe’s request, any Tribe-owned land inside the Compact Designated Area in Tucson, subject to valid existing rights. Gaming on that land is governed by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and specified federal criminal provisions. Trust land is managed under usual federal trust rules, treated as acquired on September 18, 1978, and the law preserves prior land, water, and access rights while leaving the Tribe free to seek additional trust acquisitions.

Gaming by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe in the Compact‑Designated Area in Tucson follows the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. Federal criminal laws on illegal gambling (18 U.S.C. 1166–1168) also apply. These rules take effect upon enactment.
The law requires the Interior Secretary to take Tribe‑owned land in a set Tucson area into trust when the Tribe asks. The area is south of West Grant Road, east of Interstate 10, north of West Calle Adelanto, and west of North 15th Avenue. Land taken into trust becomes part of the Pascua Yaqui Reservation and is treated as acquired on September 18, 1978. All valid existing land, water, and access rights stay in place. The Tribe keeps the right to ask for other land to be taken into trust.
