Became Law
Awards a Congressional Gold Medal to Willie O'Ree in recognition of his contributions to hockey, inclusion, and recreational opportunity. The law directs the Secretary of the Treasury to strike one gold medal that bears O'Ree's image and name. It authorizes the Secretary to strike and sell bronze duplicates priced to cover production costs. Proceeds from those sales go to the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund, and the Mint may charge the fund for medal costs. The medals are designated national medals and treated as numismatic items under federal law.
