Beginning January 1, 2024, health centers can use New Access Points grants to open mobile units. Centers already getting Section 330 funds can open a mobile unit even without adding a new permanent site. Centers not yet funded can use the grant for a mobile unit only if they also open a permanent, full-time site. This expands primary care in rural and city areas, helping people with low incomes, Medicaid or CHIP, or no insurance.
