Became Law
Creates a narrow exception allowing federal education funds to support student instruction in activities such as archery, hunting, other shooting sports, and culinary arts. It amends ESEA section 8526(7) to say the general prohibition on using federal education funds for weapons does not apply to funds under this Act when those funds pay for program activities that are otherwise permissible and that provide educational instruction or enrichment.

Schools can use federal K-12 education funds for archery, hunting, other shooting sports, and culinary arts when allowed by the program. Activities must be part of an authorized ESEA program and be for instruction or enrichment. This change is now in effect.
