HR8800, National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027
Authorizes FY2027 defense funding and a wide set of reforms that reshape how the Pentagon buys equipment, protects supply chains, and manages its people. It pairs multiyear procurement and industrial‑base rules with personnel, health, cyber/AI, space, maritime, and election‑law changes.
HR452, Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act
This law awards Congressional Gold Medals to the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team as a formal recognition of their Lake Placid victory and its lasting effect on American morale and the sport of hockey. It directs the Treasury to strike the medals and sets rules for duplicates, display, and funding. - Team legacy and public recognition: The Act honors the 1980 team with a symbolic national award that reinforces their historical and cultural significance for fans, players, and communities connected to the game. - Museum displays and research access: One gold medal goes to the Lake Placid Olympic Center, one to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth, Minnesota, and one to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs for display and research. - Mint operations and collectibles: The Secretary of the Treasury will strike the medals, may sell bronze duplicates at prices that cover costs, and classifies the medals as national and numismatic items. The U.S. Mint Public Enterprise Fund pays for production and receives proceeds from duplicate sales.
HR1422, Enhanced Iran Sanctions Act of 2025
Expands U.S. sanctions on Iran's oil and petrochemical sectors to cut off funding for weapons, missiles, drones, and terrorism. The Enhanced Iran Sanctions Act of 2025 broadens who can be sanctioned and adds immigration and enforcement tools to target evasion and facilitation.
HR842, Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act
Would expand Medicare to cover multi-cancer early detection screening tests. It defines eligible tests as certain FDA-cleared or approved genomic blood tests or comparable biological-sample tests and directs the Secretary to use the national coverage determinations process to decide when they are covered.
HR2853, Combating Organized Retail Crime Act of 2025
Strengthen federal tools to combat organized retail and supply chain theft. This bill would expand federal criminal offenses and penalties for coordinated theft and money laundering, and create a centralized Department of Homeland Security coordination center to align federal, State, local, Tribal, and private-sector efforts against organized retail crime. - Retailers and supply-chain businesses would gain stronger federal options to pursue large-scale thieves and resellers. Prosecutors could target aggregated thefts once losses hit an aggregate threshold of $5,000 within 12 months. - Prosecutors and investigators would get expanded crime and forfeiture authorities. The bill adds new references and penalties across federal statutes and extends money-laundering coverage to instruments like money orders, prepaid cards, gift certificates, and store gift cards. - Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and partners would share data, run joint investigations, provide training, and publish annual public reports through a new Organized Retail and Supply Chain Crime Coordination Center that includes staffing requirements and a seven-year sunset.
HR703, Main Street Tax Certainty Act
This bill would permanently preserve the qualified business income (QBI) deduction by removing the sunset provision in Internal Revenue Code section 199A. The change would apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025, so the deduction would be available for 2026 and later tax years. It achieves this by striking subsection (i) of section 199A and setting that effective date. Taxpayers with qualified business income would continue to claim the QBI deduction under the existing Section 199A rules for those years.
Surfaced from PRIA's policy knowledge graph, ranked by signal strength, connected by evidence.
Would block federal eminent domain for most agricultural land when a feasible alternative exists, defines covered land, and excludes tiny low‑income parcels.
