National Falls Prevention Awareness Week would be designated for September 22–28, 2025 to spotlight ways to reduce falls and related injuries among older adults. It would cite CDC figures showing about 14 million falls and roughly $80 billion in direct medical costs each year and would highlight evidence-based, cost-effective actions like balance and strength exercise programs, medication review, vision care, home hazard reduction, and falls prevention education. The resolution would encourage collaboration across federal, state, and local agencies, the Aging Network, health providers, community groups, and businesses and express congressional support for investments to prevent falls.
