Stronger, ten-year Inspectors General
This bill would set Inspectors General terms at ten years. It would make the President able to remove an Inspector General only for cause in the amended sections. The changes would alter parts of title 5 of the U.S. Code covering Inspectors General. If enacted, this could strengthen IG independence and federal oversight, but the bill does not provide funding or an effective date.
