More kids qualify for Every Kid Outdoors

If enacted, more children would qualify for the Every Kid Outdoors program. Fifth graders and home-schooled children who are 10 or 11 would be eligible. The government would authorize $25 million each year to run and promote the program, with National Park Service coordination. Funds could provide transportation for schools and youth groups with the greatest financial needs. Money could also support outreach to underserved communities and children with disabilities. Funding would still need yearly approval by Congress.
