Enhancing Faith-Based Support for Veterans Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Self, Keith [R-TX-3]
Introduced
Summary
Voluntary sharing of a veteran's contact information with external faith-based organizations would be allowed if the veteran chooses to share it after a chaplain conducts a spiritual assessment. The bill adds section 1730D to Title 38 to permit that narrow, patient-directed transfer.

Voluntary faith referrals for VA patients
If you get VA medical care, you could ask a VA chaplain to share your contact info with a faith group you name. This would happen only after a chaplain’s spiritual assessment and only if you elect to share. The group would be outside the VA, and this authorization is limited to your contact information. The bill sets no start date and adds no new funding.
