HR6113119th CongressWALLET

To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to impose limitations on contracts with Medicare Advantage organizations offering multiple Medicare Advantage plans under the Medicare program.

Sponsored By: Representative Pocan, Mark [D-WI-2]

Introduced

Summary

Limit how many Medicare Advantage plans each insurer can offer. This bill would cap contracts so an MA organization could not offer more than three Medicare Advantage plans for a plan year and would allow additional plans only when each is significantly different in premiums, benefits, or cost-sharing as the Secretary defines.

Limit on Medicare Advantage plans per company

If enacted, one year after enactment, companies could offer at most three Medicare Advantage plans each year. More than one plan would be allowed only if each is clearly different in premiums, benefits, or cost‑sharing. "Significantly different" would be set by the Secretary. You could see fewer plan choices, which might cut clutter but remove some options.
