More time to file CHAMPVA claims

If enacted, this bill would extend the time certain people can file CHAMPVA medical claims. From the date of enactment until September 30, 2027, a covered individual who is retroactively approved would have a filing window that begins when they get the notice. That filing period would end no earlier than 365 days after that notice. A covered individual means someone eligible for CHAMPVA under 38 U.S.C. §1781 who also has Medicare Part A. The VA Secretary would have to issue regulations to carry out this rule.
