Blocks CAIR assets and bans transactions
If enacted, the bill would require the Treasury Secretary, with State and Justice, to designate the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and all its chapters as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist. CAIR would be added to the Treasury Department’s OFAC sanctions list and all CAIR assets in the United States would be blocked. No United States person would be allowed to transact with CAIR. The bill would also suspend CAIR’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
