Agency rule poverty and race analysis

This bill would require federal agencies to publish, with any proposed notice for a "major rule" in the Federal Register, an analysis of the rule's actual or potential impact on people living at, near, or below the poverty line. It would also require an analysis of the rule's impact on racial inequity. Agencies could include an analysis of the racial wealth gap at the agency head's discretion. The requirement would take effect upon enactment.

GAO reports on poverty and inequity

This bill would require the Comptroller General to publish one electronic report in the calendar year one year after enactment, and one report each year for the next nine years. Each report would review 2 to 5 federal programs or policies that had a substantial economic impact in the past five fiscal years. Each report would examine actual or potential impacts on people living at, near, or below the poverty line and on racial inequity. The Comptroller General could include analysis of the racial wealth gap at their discretion.
