Easier domestic-content proof for HUD grants
If enacted, HUD would treat documentation made under the Make It American Process Standard (NEMA 70901-2024) as sufficient proof that a funding recipient’s domestic content certification meets Build America, Buy America rules for HUD financial assistance. The Secretary could also accept similar standards if they provide an auditable and verifiable certification process. Recipients would not be required to use NEMA documentation and could use other certification methods that are permitted by law. This change would apply to HUD-administered financial assistance and would take effect on enactment.
