Directing the Committee on House Administration to revoke and prevent the registration of certain Congressional Member Organizations and Congressional Staff Organizations.
Sponsored By: Representative Mace, Nancy [R-SC-1]
Introduced
Summary
Bars Congressional Member and Staff Organizations that exclude or favor people by race, color, ethnicity, or national origin. This bill would direct the Committee on House Administration to revoke and refuse registration for any Congressional Member Organization or Congressional Staff Organization that is formed mainly on those grounds, admits or declines members for those reasons, or organizes to promote the perceived interests of one group over others. The resolution says such discrimination is incompatible with Representatives' duty to all constituents and removes official recognition from groups meeting these criteria.
