Allow Women's Museum on the Mall

This bill would let the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum be located inside the National Mall Reserve. It would change a 2021 law phrase so the Mall location is allowed. The Board of Regents would have to tell any federal agency before picking a site that the agency controls. The agency must tell several congressional committees and then transfer administrative control to the Smithsonian as soon as practicable after those committees get notice. The Museum Council would need to make exhibits reflect the many cultures and views of U.S. women and seek guidance from a broad array of defined, respected sources. The Smithsonian Secretary would have to report to Congress within 120 days and every two years on steps to follow these rules. The bill would treat these changes as if they were included in the 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
