Ticker labels for covered entities
If enacted, national stock exchanges would have to mark the trading symbol for any listed covered entity (a consolidated variable interest entity). This change would take effect on the date that is 180 days after enactment and would apply to covered entities listed on or after that date. The label would make covered-entity status visible to investors through the ticker symbol.
New investor warnings for CVIEs
If enacted, the SEC would require brokers and dealers, starting no later than 180 days after enactment, to give warnings to investors who buy or are offered investments in covered entities (consolidated variable interest entities). The warning must say that investors in these entities may lack legal recourse. This is an information rule for broker/dealer communications, not a payment or tax change.
