More DOE authority over drones
If enacted, the bill would add the Secretary of Energy to federal rules on buying and operating certain foreign-linked drones. It would let the Department of Energy join classified tracking decisions and get an existing accounting exception. It would also clarify DOE authority to protect sites that store or move special nuclear material and sites that make non‑nuclear weapon parts. These changes would take effect upon enactment and mainly affect DOE, federal agencies, contractors, and nuclear site operators.
