MACV–SOG Congressional Gold Medal Act

Summary

This bill would award a single Congressional Gold Medal to the service members of the Military Assistance Command Vietnam‑Studies and Observations Group (MACV‑SOG) in recognition of their high‑risk operations and heavy sacrifices during the Vietnam War. It would direct the Secretary of the Treasury to design and strike the gold medal, place the medal with the Smithsonian for display and research, authorize the sale of bronze duplicates to cover production costs, classify the medals as national numismatic items, and allow use of the Mint Public Enterprise Fund to pay striking costs.
