Ban federal funding for war with Iran

This bill would bar using federal money for any U.S. military force in or against Iran, effective on enactment. The ban would not apply if Congress declares war or later passes a specific authorization that meets the War Powers Resolution. It would also say that older authorizations passed before enactment, including Public Law 107-40 and Public Law 107-243, may not be used to justify force against Iran. The bill would keep the War Powers Resolution reporting and consultation duties and would not be construed to authorize new uses of force.
