S2136119th Congress

Smart Pricing Practices Permanence Act

Sponsored By: Senator Sheehy, Tim [R-MT]

Introduced

Summary

This bill would reduce reporting obligations for a Department of Defense pilot that speeds contracting and pricing and would change the pilot's scope by removing a statutory subsection. It would replace the phrase 'minimal reporting' with 'no unique reporting' in subsection (b)(2) of Section 890 of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 and would strike subsection (d) of that section. Those edits would alter the reporting requirements and modify how the pilot to accelerate contracting and pricing operates. The bill does not create new funding, add sunset provisions, change who is eligible, or expand program authority beyond these two edits.
