Pay Our Military Act of 2025

Summary

This bill would ensure continued pay for members of the Armed Forces and the civilian employees and contractors who support them during any FY2026 funding lapse. It creates a temporary appropriation that covers pay and allowances for active service members, Department of Defense civilians and Department of Homeland Security civilians in the Coast Guard who are assigned to support them, and contractors the relevant Secretary identifies as providing support. Funds come from any Treasury money not already appropriated. Authority ends when an appropriation for those purposes is enacted or on January 1, 2027.

Keep military pay during funding lapse

If enacted, this bill would keep pay and allowances flowing during any lapse in FY2026 appropriations. It would fund such pay from any Treasury money not otherwise appropriated. Covered payments would include: active-duty Armed Forces members who serve during the lapse; DoD and Coast Guard civilian employees the relevant Secretary says are supporting those members; and DoD and Coast Guard contractors the relevant Secretary says are supporting those members. "Secretary concerned" would mean the Secretary of Defense for DoD matters and the Secretary of Homeland Security for Coast Guard matters. This authority would end at the earliest of: Congress enacting an appropriation for these purposes; Congress enacting an appropriations measure without funding these purposes; or January 1, 2027.
