Sponsored By: Senator Cotton, Tom [R-AR]
Introduced
Summary
This bill would require the U.S. government to use the name _Judea and Samaria_ instead of "the West Bank" in official materials, funding, and statutes. It would also swap the term in a set of existing federal laws and limit when the old term may be used.

Federal agencies must use Judea and Samaria
If enacted, the bill would say the U.S. government should call the area annexed in 1967 "Judea and Samaria," with south of Jerusalem called Judea and north called Samaria. It would bar using federal money after enactment to prepare or publish official policies, guidance, briefings, press releases, or other work that calls Judea and Samaria the "West Bank." The ban would not apply to obligations under U.S. treaties or agreements. The Secretary of State could waive the ban if the waiver is in the interests of the United States and must explain the waiver to Congress within 30 days. The bill would also direct many existing U.S. laws to replace the phrase "West Bank" with "Judea and Samaria."
