More outreach and training for farmworkers
If enacted, this bill would extend the USDA Farmworker Coordinator authorization through 2031. It would let the Department work with more partners, including colleges, local school agencies, and community nonprofit organizations, and add technical job training programs. The Coordinator would get new duties: assess outreach effectiveness, develop and run a plan to coordinate outreach and services, advise many USDA agencies, publicize federal program information to farmworker employers on USDA's website, set research priorities, and measure program outcomes. It would also require the Secretary, acting through the Coordinator, to hire staff needed to carry out these duties.
