Sponsored By: Senator Luján, Ben Ray [D-NM]
Introduced
Summary
Public health and prevention are the central focus of this resolution, which would express support for National Public Health Week and recognize the work of public health professionals, Federal, State, Tribal, and local partners, and communities. It would highlight challenges like declines in life expectancy, rising drug overdose deaths, maternal and infant mortality disparities, chronic disease, climate and air-quality harms, and would encourage increased resources, a stronger public health workforce, and public education to advance prevention and health equity so the United States can become the healthiest nation in one generation.
