A resolution designating October 30, 2025, as a national day of remembrance for the workers of the nuclear weapons program of the United States.

Sponsored By: Senator Blackburn, Marsha [R-TN]

Passed Senate

Summary

National day of remembrance: This resolution designates October 30, 2025 as a national day of remembrance for workers of the United States nuclear weapons program, including uranium miners, millers, haulers, plutonium processors, and on-site participants at atmospheric nuclear weapons tests. It recognizes that since World War II hundreds of thousands of men and women served the nation building nuclear weapons and that many paid a high price, developing disabling or fatal illnesses. The resolution encourages Americans to support and participate in ceremonies and programs to honor past and present workers and notes prior Senate recognitions across multiple Congresses.
