Alternative certification for military police veterans

Beginning January 1, 2027, honorably discharged military police veterans can apply through an alternative route to Arizona peace officer certification. The route credits their military police training and experience and includes a shorter Arizona program focused on state laws, procedures, and community policing. Applicants must pass a Board-approved exam and meet character, medical, psychological, and background requirements. The Board must process complete applications within 60 days.
