Felony to impersonate officers, including federal

Delaware makes it a crime to impersonate police, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, fire police, or federal officers. The act must be done intentionally, without lawful authority, to help commit a crime or while fleeing one. That crime is a class E felony. It becomes a class C felony if the person causes physical injury to a nonparticipant, or commits a class A or B felony, or a sexual offense during the crime or immediate flight. A federal officer means someone who can make arrests under federal law. Prosecutors can also bring separate charges for any other crimes.
