If you are 18 or older and charged under §4764 in Newark, your case can start in Newark’s Alderman’s Court. For §4764(b) or §4764(d), cases can also start in the Court of Common Pleas. For §4764(c), cases can also start in the Justice of the Peace Court. This only applies to §4764 offenses that happen inside the City of Newark. It changes where the case is first heard.
