Earlier premium tax payments for insurers

Insurers, surplus lines brokers, and captive insurers must follow a fixed schedule for estimated premium taxes. Pay 50% of the year’s estimate on April 15. Pay 20% on June 15, 20% on September 15, and 10% on December 15. Pay any remaining balance by March 1 of the next year. The law keeps existing premium-tax rules for surplus lines brokers and captive insurers and clarifies timing across the code.
