Bigger pocketknives allowed; switchblades illegal

The law excludes an ordinary pocketknife from the deadly-weapon list. A pocketknife is ordinary if it folds and the blade is 3.75 inches or less. It must be carried closed. All other knives count as deadly weapons under this law. You can be charged with a misdemeanor if you sell, offer for sale, or possess a switchblade. A switchblade opens by a spring or by gravity.
