2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Anesthesia rules start by January 1, 2026

The State Board must adopt rules for hygienists to give local anesthesia by January 1, 2026. Sections 1–3 take effect on the earlier of January 1, 2026, or when the Board publishes final rules. This lets care start sooner if the rules are finished early.

Hygienists can give local anesthesia with supervision

Licensed dental hygienists can give local anesthesia when a licensed dentist directly supervises. They must follow the State Board’s rules and get any required permits. Other dental hygiene work still follows general supervision rules.
