Schools must share Type 1 diabetes info

The state health department, with the education department, posts existing Type 1 diabetes materials on its website. Your child’s school must make these materials available to parents and guardians. The materials explain Type 1 diabetes, risk factors, and warning signs. They describe screening and what test results mean. They advise talking with your child’s primary care provider if warning signs appear, and making a treatment plan after diagnosis, possibly with an endocrinologist. These requirements take effect on August 1 after enactment, or on August 1 of the first full year after enactment if enacted on or before August 1, 2025.
