Delaware studies pregnancy and postpartum coverage

The law directs Delaware’s Medicaid agency to study two options under the Children’s Health Insurance Program. One is a federal option that covers care from conception to the end of pregnancy. The other is a plan to use CHIP funds to cover postpartum care for people now ineligible because of immigration status. The agency must deliver a final report by January 1, 2026 to state legislative leaders and all members, with its analysis, findings, and projected costs. The law does not change coverage or funding now.
