Florida Statutes 2026 becomes official law

The compiled Florida Statutes 2026, including edits from reviser’s bills, is the official state law. The statutes take effect when they are published. All general and permanent laws passed through the 2025 regular session that are not carried into the code or continued by reference are repealed. Laws passed after the 2025 regular session are not repealed and keep full effect. This act itself starts on the 60th day after the Legislature adjourns the session in which it passed.

Earlier rights and lawsuits stay intact

If a statute is repealed by this codification, you keep any right that accrued before the repeal. A civil lawsuit that was already filed continues. This protection only applies to preexisting rights and pending suits.
